Another instalment in Gap Riot’s special Mentor Series, this is technically a reissue of a one-of-a-kind, handmade poetic curiosity by Toronto vispo legend and tireless poetic-community supporter, Brian Dedora. Here, Gap Riot present their own take on Klara du Plessis’s idea of deep curation, asking how we might reissue a handmade item and pay respect and attention to the original. We’ve been scanning and cutting and glueing and folding over here for days, and we’ve been paying deep, attentive care to the work Dedora originally did years ago with hands, pens, pencils, typewriters, graph paper, lined paper, and—oh, our inner kindergarteners!—construction paper!
This is an ultra limited edition chapbook of fifteen copies, printed and assembled at Gap Riot HQ (i.e., our apartments) honouring Dedora’s innovative and influential work in visual poetry and pressing against its borders and limits.
