brandy ryan,
in the third person reluctant

brandy ryan’s bio says that she “likes to slip between genre and form.” This chapbook, In the Third Person Reluctant, illustrates that perfectly. The work collected here is erasage, a mixture of erasure poetry and collage, that thinks about and through women’s bodies in literature and media. It’s like, what if your teenage magazine self and your fancy poetry event self and your under a blanket with a book self and your looking gorgeous for a night out self and your afternoon sex self and your “I think we should redo the kitchen” self and your fuck-you self all got together and made a collaborative chapbook. And it’s fucking fierce.

Printed in full freakin’ colour in a limited run of fifty copies at Product Photo in Toronto, this chapbook and all erasage therein were made by brandy ryan, including the cover art and design. She is so talented and incredible we’re just, like, stoked to be a part of it.
